When I was a little girl, I had a four-story Lundby dollhouse that held a special place in my heart. I spent countless hours rearranging furniture, dreaming up stories, and creating tiny worlds.
Fast forward to today, and now that I have three granddaughters, I knew it was time to have a dollhouse once again.

This is my Christmas dollhouse, and it has an important twist: Christmas never ends here! Every detail, from the twinkling lights to the stockings by the fireplace, reflects the joy and cosiness of Christmas all year round. Its address is 7 Candycane Lane—a place where Christmas lives on every day.

Step inside and take a tour through the festive rooms:
The Children’s Room (Attic): Up in the attic lies a charming children’s room, glowing with the warm light of a tiny Christmas tree. The walls have a cheerful red and white wallpaper, and fairylights hang from the slanted ceiling.

A rocking horse sits proudly on the floor, its wooden frame polished to a festive shine, ready for endless adventures. On the wall hangs a chalkboard, its surface dusted with tiny white smudges from enthusiastic writing. At the centre of the board, in bold, cheerful numbers, an important calculation is displayed: the days left until Christmas. Every morning, the countdown is updated with great ceremony, building excitement and anticipation as the big day draws closer.

The Kitchen: The kitchen is the heart of the dollhouse, with a rustic charm that feels like stepping into a Christmas bakery. A miniature stove hosts a coffee pot with freshly made coffee. There are baked puddings and a Christmas cake on the table, while a plate rack on the wall holds a couple of pretty plates. The table is set for a Christmas feast, complete with preserved fruit jars, and a bowl of stone fruits. The kitchen smells of fresh gingerbread straight out of the oven.

The Main Bedroom: This room is a haven of comfort and romance, draped in soft greens and reds. A large comfortable bed is dressed in a white quilt and the pillows feature Christmas ho ho hos. A small bookshelf holds classic Christmas tales like The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol. I think my favourite is the fireplace that creates a special ambiance.

The Living Room: The living room is the cosiest space in the house, centred around a roaring fireplace. Stockings hang from the mantle, which is adorned with a festive wreath. A sofa with red cushions and a matching armchair are arranged around a coffee table topped with books and gingerbread. The Christmas tree, decorated with candy canes, stretches nearly to the ceiling. Wrapped presents spill out from underneath, each lovingly labeled.

The Bathroom: Even the bathroom exudes festive cheer! Neatly folded red towels sit on a rack, adding a pop of colour. The floor tiles, adorned with silvery stars, bring a playful Christmas touch. A few rubber ducks here and there, serve as a sweet reminder that little ones live in this house.

The Sauna: As a proud Finn, it was absolutely essential that my dollhouse includes a sauna. After all, no Finnish home—big or small—is complete without one! Inside, you’ll find the tiniest wooden benches and a bucket for löyly (steam), perfect for warming up during an eternal Christmas season.

In Finnish culture, the Christmas sauna (joulusauna) is a cherished tradition, symbolising warmth, reflection, and connection. Typically prepared on Christmas Eve, it offers a serene space to cleanse the body and mind before the celebrations. Finns gather in the softly lit sauna to share stories, laughter, and quiet moments, reinforcing bonds and creating lasting memories.
The Balcony: The balcony with a Finnish flag, overlooks a snowy landscape (or so I like to imagine) and is strung with fairy lights that twinkle like stars.

This dollhouse isn’t just a plaything—it’s a celebration of childhood, a nod to tradition, and a gift of imagination for my granddaughters.
I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my Christmas wonderland at 7 Candycane Lane.
