This year, I decided to spread the Christmas cheer into every corner of our home, including the bathrooms.

It’s funny how something as simple as decorating these often-overlooked spaces has brought such warmth and joy.

Now, every time I step into them, I’m met with a little burst of festive charm that makes me smile.

The downstairs bathroom with its big bathtub has become my favourite.

Without windows to let in the summer sun, the festive lights stay enchanting even during the day.

Sauna-tonttu has taken residence there, and I feel honoured.
While we still haven’t built a sauna in this house, having the sauna-tonttu with us brings a little piece of Finnish Christmas into our lives. It feels like a quiet nod to tradition, and it fills me with a sense of connection.

I also created a little Christmas forest on the wall — a simple touch that I absolutely fell in love with.

It’s a reminder that joy can be found in even the smallest details.

There’s a figurine on the shelf that captures my attention every time I see it. It was a gift to me from my friend Dana.

Its reflective posture feels contemplative, almost as if it’s holding unspoken questions or silent hopes.

Amid the busyness of the pre-Christmas season, it’s a reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters.

Sometimes, a quiet moment in a beautifully decorated space feels like a gift in itself.

The upstairs bathroom and the powder room have their own festive touches too.

A large, homemade wreath hangs boldly, even if it does make the mirror a bit of a challenge to use—hahaa!

There’s also a needlecraft piece I finished back in 2005 while living in Finland, a small but meaningful connection to another chapter of my life.

Together, these spaces reflect a quiet, radiant kind of Christmas spirit that I cherish.

They remind me to slow down and enjoy the season, rather than simply rushing through it.

Whether it’s the charm of a little Christmas forest or the nostalgia of handmade treasures, these touches bring the beauty of the season into every corner of our home.
